About this Website
When I began to wonder what it would ‘look like’ to teach mathematics from a biblical perspective, I struggled to find examples of how to do this in an authentic way. God has designed us to work together, and as others’ insights have aided me, I hope my reflections will enrich you.
This site complements the many great mathematics resources that already exist. It is a reference tool for teachers, drawing from my 8 years of study for my Master of Education through the National Institute of Christian Education.
Developing a story
The most important thing is the narrative or ‘story’ that you tell your students in the daily routine of the classroom. Every topic, activity, and pedagogical choice that you make can be couched in the grand, overarching Biblical story. This website is intended to help you with the language for that story!
If you came upon this website in search of a quick ‘Christianised’ maths worksheet to give your class, you may be disappointed. Instead, you’ll discover numerous mathematical activities integrated within a broader framework centred around the Biblical story.
The content on this website aims to spark your initial thoughts and provide starting points for classroom discussions. However, it is important to be authentic and bring your own Christian journey, as prompted by the Holy Spirit, to each unique student in your care.
Simplified
The frameworks offered use simplified language to help students understand the purpose of their learning.
Theology, pedagogy, faith, fruit, and service are complex. Hence, once you begin to dive deeper into these concepts, it seems they can never be easily categorised. This simplified attempt is just the starting point and can act as a catalyst for deeper and richer discussions in the classroom. Therefore:
- The language has been SIMPLIFIED!
- Theological ideas have been SIMPLIFIED!
This is to make everything accessible to students and a broad range of teachers from varied backgrounds.

Curriculum authorities
I live in northern Australia and am guided by the NT government. Therefore, I utilise the Australian Curriculum for Years 7-9; SACE/NTCET outcomes for Years 11–12; and a combination for Year 10. However, these can be easily adapted for other curriculum authorities.
My prayer is that:
- Students would have their heart captivated by God’s world through the lens of mathematics so that they would worship and glorify the maker and creator of the world.
- Students would have their head develop an intellectual mathematical understanding and their hands equipped with mathematical skills to serve others and steward God’s world.
