Do your students understand these values in light of the Biblical story (and grace), or are they just legalistic rules to follow?

Without a clear explanation of the values that arise from the biblical story, students are left to interpret the values based on their own set of foundational assumptions. For instance, the value of working collaboratively could be interpreted as “good for my learning” rather than a desire to worship God through serving others.
