Lifelong learning outcomes are aligned with curriculum outcomes to adapt as needed. Refer students back to this throughout the unit to see how their learning fits together.
Mathematics helps us discover and notice the beautiful geometric designs that are in God’s creation.
Students consider:
- These designs were not created by chance or by evolution, nor should they be worshiped. Rather, Jesus came to redeem humankind, and He opened our eyes to know God the creator.
- As we are made in his image, we can learn from these designs and, in turn, create beautiful work to bless our communities.
“When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?”
Psalm 8:3-4
Self-assessment rubric
Provide clarity to students about the purpose of their mathematical learning by allowing self-reflection at the beginning and end of units of work to identify growth.
“Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these.”
Luke 12:27
