Unit outline for teachers: Biblical perspective framework; big ideas; curriculum ties; and key activities to ‘frame’ the learning of mathematical skills.
Students might focus their investigation on screen usage and consider:
- How to have peace with God, others, and themselves.
- How to seek God’s wisdom to evaluate and explain when or how screen technology is contributing to shalom and when or how screens are getting in the way of shalom.
- How, utilising statistics, can we help others in our community use screens and technology in a way that contributes to shalom?
Framing the learning of mathematical skills with a few key activities will allow you to explain the Biblical perspective throughout the unit and in a way that authentically answers the question: “why are we doing this topic?” These framing activities will help you with the language to use.
