- Pythagoras:
- Marvelled at the reliable and predictable patterns that exist in the universe. Hence, by using mathematics he made important contributions to astronomy, music (harmonies), and philosophy.
- However, he worshiped the created rather than the creator.
- While students can consider the importance of mathematics in understanding the universe, we worship the God who created these patterns and gave us numbers as a tool to worship and serve Him.
